OHI Group Consolidates its Diversification Strategy while Maintaining Leadership in Offshore Contract Win Rates.

Lisbon, 19th December 2024, OHI Group, Latin America´s leading air mobility solutions provider, is proud to announce another successful year marked by a series of groundbreaking achievements across its diverse business lines. These achievements have resulted in increasing customer confidence and significant returns on the company’s investments in innovative industry solutions and operational efficiencies, grounded in its commitment to sustainability.

This year customers continued to reward OHI for its commitment to their success and by the third quarter the Group had achieved a tender win rate of 56% in offshore oil and gas contracts, of which 80% represented renewals. In the third quarter alone, OHI secured an additional €995 million of backlog, demonstrating that solutions, operational efficiency, and the network effect remained a competitive advantage for the company.

After being the first in Latin America to introduce Super Medium helicopters for offshore transport, the group welcomed its first Airbus H160 medium helicopter. With this addition, OHI is the first operator in Latin America to deploy this model for offshore energy services. The introduction of the H160 underscores the company’s commitment to modernising its fleet, reducing its carbon and noise footprint, and operating more efficient aircraft on behalf of its customers.

In its onshore business, the OHI Group, through its affiliate Omni Táxi Aéreo, successfully completed its second power utility contract, demonstrating the economic viability of heavy helicopters for transmission line construction while minimising disruption to sensitive natural habitats. This project took place in a mangrove-flooded area near the Serra do Mar in Guarujá city, where the helicopter transported cargo to construct eight electric towers. Over two months of operations, the helicopter transported 2,300 tonnes of materials and equipment, reducing the overall construction timeline by two months. As Brazil plans to expand its electric transmission network by adding 30,000 kilometres of new power lines over the next decade, the OHI solution using heavy helicopters highlights its commitment to creating value for customers while extending its capabilities into adjacent sectors.

OHI Group also secured and commenced a wildfire management contract with IBAMA, Brazil’s Institute for the Environment and Natural Resources, in a multi-role mission that included transporting firefighters, delivering supplies, and conducting water-bombing operations in the Pantanal and Pará state. During the first 70 days of the contract, OHI Group, through its affiliate Omni Táxi Aéreo, completed 56 missions, transported firefighters, managed internal and external cargo, and dropped water on fires using a large Bambi bucket capable of carrying 2,500 litres. This effort resulted in the transport of more than 290 tonnes of cargo. Wildfires in Brazil have significantly increased in recent years, reaching unprecedented levels in 2020. The Pantanal region, in particular, suffered its most damaging wildfires in two decades. This alarming trend is expected to require more resources over the next five years to mitigate growing environmental challenges. OHI Group remains committed to integrating sustainable practices by protecting the environment while building shareholder value.

Committed to the development of a sustainable low-altitude economy in Brazil, OHI completed its first class 1 (above 150 kg) unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) contract in November. Preparation for the contract took 18 months and required the OHI Unmanned team to undertake a comprehensive operational risk assessment, develop a complete concept of operations manual, secure special permits from local regulators, and establish operational letters (CAOPs) with DECEA. During the execution of the contract, the OHI Unmanned team achieved aviation milestones by becoming the first to operate a drone in shared airspace at altitudes of up to 8,000 feet, while setting a world record for distance by delivering payloads nearly 200 kilometres offshore and returning safely. Furthermore, the OHI Unmanned team demonstrated the utility of UAVs by not only transporting payloads over long distances, but also showcasing the drone’s ability to detect oil spills, track marine assets, and predict sea life migratory patterns—all with a lower carbon footprint than currently operated fixed-wing aircraft. This achievement further illustrated the company’s commitment to pioneering low-carbon solutions for the low-altitude economy.

Revo, the group’s Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) service, continued to set new benchmarks in high-end mobility for discerning clients in São Paulo. In its first year of operations, the company surpassed the milestone of 700 passengers per month and forged significant partnerships with the 2024 São Paulo GP and the exclusive VIP terminal “Terminal BTG Pactual” at Guarulhos Airport. Revo also solidified its leadership in the AAM sector, an important pillar of the low-altitude economy, by simulating a complete eVTOL ecosystem that mapped interactions between vertiports and air mobility assets in dense airspace. These achievements underscore Revo’s commitment to innovation and its pivotal role in shaping the future of urban air mobility and the adoption of eVTOL technology.

“This year has been transformative for the OHI Group,” said Jeremy Akel, Group CEO. “In previous years, our milestones were centred around establishing our leadership in our core business. This year, we reached milestones that demonstrate our ability to generate firsts in adjacent markets with sustainability value. While we continue to grow at an industry-leading pace in our core business, we remain committed to investing in new customer solutions and efficiency improvements that deliver sustainability benefits. We are optimistic about our ability to execute this strategy and deliver growth in shareholder value.”
